Gävle has a population of about 92,000 inhabitants and is situated on the east coast, 80 minutes train journey from Stockholm and just one hour from Arlanda airport.

The Gävle University has 13,500 students and is located close by the Gävle Technology Park, quickly expanding with IT companies.

As a distinguished residence town Gävle has a large public sector, but has also strong companies like Korsnäs AB and Ericssons AB.

Gävle has also a very varied cultural and outdoor life. Furuvik - an animal and pleasure park, the Concert Hall and the water oasis Fjärran Höjderbadet are just some examples of that.
